KURo Setta is carefully handcrafted one by one by skilled artisans in Nara Prefecture, the holy land of footwear. The manufacturing process is broadly divided into three sections: the thong, the top, and the sole, and each section is made with the utmost skill and attention to detail.
First, there's the thong. This part, which is held between the thumb and index finger to integrate the foot and the geta, has the characteristic of fitting better to the foot the more you wear it. To prevent chafing even when worn for long periods of time, the thong is carefully handcrafted by artisans, providing a gentle fit and improving comfort. Furthermore, the use of the thong is said to have a positive effect on the formation of the arch of the foot, improving posture, and even the distribution of foot pressure.
Next, the top is made of cowhide leather, which naturally conforms to the shape of your foot. Compared to traditional materials like tatami mats or bamboo, the unique flexibility of leather enhances comfort and ensures a comfortable fit for any foot.
The bottom is made of EVA, which is water and dirt resistant, lightweight, and designed to reduce fatigue. Not only is it non-slip and easy to walk in, it also provides comfort even when worn for long periods of time.
After all these processes, the shoes are carefully fitted together by hand by artisans to create the perfect pair. KURo Setta is a true culmination of craftsmanship, packed with intricate techniques and a commitment to quality materials.

The leather used for KURo Setta is cowhide, tanned with tannins, a component found in plant tannins, and finished with almost no surface processing such as embossing. The cowhide used for Jet Black and Moon White is finished with European ultra-fine pigments, which gives it a translucent look but makes it resistant to fading and discoloration, and it is characterized by its soft texture and feel.
It has a natural texture that makes it instantly recognizable as genuine leather, a high level of quality and elegance, a rustic smell and a smooth feel.
KURo Setta also supports the Thinking Leather Action initiative, aiming to make full use of leather products without waste.

The basic traditional way to wear them is to stick your heel out a little (1-3cm) and lightly hook the straps with just your toes. If you want to wear them in a more modern style, tuck your toes deep into the straps.
When putting your feet in, be careful not to twist the straps. Once you wear geta, they will take on the habit of your feet, so putting them on the first time is crucial.
If your geta get dirty, wring out a cloth in cold or lukewarm water and gently pat the dirty area. The soles are attached with a strong adhesive, but you should never put them in water, as this may cause the soles to peel off.
